First, explore existing personal resources
Maybe you have savings or have parents or other family members who may want to contribute. You should have an honest discussion with your family about the cost of your education and how much they’re willing to help you finance it. Your family may also include your spouse or partner.
Get smart about financial aid
Once you’ve exhausted your personal resources, it’s time to investigate financial aid.
The three categories of financial aid are:
- grants and scholarships,
- Federal Work-Study, and
Most financial aid for graduate and professional students comes from Federal programs that are administered by the U.S. Department of Education or from the school you’ll be attending.
