Financial Literacy Forum

A full day dedicated to financial literacy education
and how to promote it on your campus

Friday, November 12
8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

With all the recent changes in the industry, one of the biggest challenges your office faces now is making sure your students have a solid foundation when it comes to the topic of financial literacy. Join in our excitement at the Financial Literacy Forum, where you will learn financial literacy best practices and acquire tools and resources designed to implement your own financial literacy program.

Financial literacy is important; you know it is, your staff knows it is, students - at least for the most part – know it is, even Congress knows it is but how do you get all of these people involved and supporting a financial literacy program on your campus? We need to Engage. Educate. Empower. ourselves, our colleagues and our students to gain the financial knowledge we all need to succeed.

Becoming aware of and promoting the value that a financial literacy program will provide to your institution is key to campus-wide buy-in. A financial literacy program assists with recruitment, retention and annual giving to name a few. We'll discuss the importance of rallying the institutional leaders, gathering your counterparts from other offices, and creating a core group on campus who are vested in the program and can share the responsibility and success of a financial literacy program.

Generating a positive vibe around a program such as this can go a long way to encouraging others to want to join and be a part. Throughout the day, we'll focus on methods for building your financial literacy curriculum from the ground up. We will suggest a "roadmap" that can help you create a program in stepwise fashion that will allow you to enhance the financial literacy of your students.

By the end of the day, you will have the tools and resources you need to build or enhance a financial literacy program on your campus. This is a program that will lead to brighter futures for your students and your institution.
