Repayment Planning

How Much Do I Repay?

Full Repayment Full repayment is required even if you do not complete your program of study, do not obtain employment upon completion of your degree, or are otherwise dissatisfied with the education or other services received from your school.
Your Monthly Payment

The amount you have to pay on your student loans depends on the type of loan you have, the amount you owe, and the repayment/refinancing plan you choose.

Your repayment schedule will indicate the initial minimum amount you have to pay each month using the standard or equal repayment plan. You may have repayment options to change the repayment term.

Variable Interest Rates
If the interest rate on your loan is variable, the payment amount is evaluated whenever the index your interest rate is based on changes. The payment amount may change to ensure the loan is paid off within the loan term allowed.
Minimum Payments
Many loan programs require a minimum monthly payment. For example, the minimum monthly payment for the Federal Stafford Loan program is $50.

Note: Federal Stafford Loans and PLUS loans are discharged in full if you die or become totally and permanently disabled. Cancellation may not be available for private loans you have borrowed. Check your documents or contact the loan servicer for cancellation provisions relative to other loans you may have borrowed.

Many loan programs require a minimum monthly payment.
