Private Loan Eligibility

 
 
 
Private Loan Eligibility Requirements   Applicants for all Access Group private loans must meet the following general eligibility requirements:
  • Valid U.S. Social Security number
  • U.S. credit record with no bankruptcies
  • Not be in default on any education loan or owe a refund on an education grant
  • Enrolled in, or admitted to, a tax-exempt, eligible, U.S. higher education institution that is accredited by the appropriate regional or national accrediting body for your program of study
  • The student must be making satisfactory progress according to the standards of the school
  • The student must meet the credit eligibility requirements applicable to their enrollment status, program of study, and citizenship status by as defined by loan type

Accrediting Bodies by Program of Study: The school must be a tax-exempt institution and be approved or accredited by one of the following:
Business   An accredited graduated school; or The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) candidate school accredited by one of the following:
  • Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools
  • New England Association of Schools and Colleges
  • North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
  • Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges
  • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
  • Western Association of Schools and Colleges
Dental   American Dental Association (ADA)
Law   American Bar Association (ABA)
Medical   American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)
Other Graduate   One of the following:
  • Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools
  • New England Association of Schools and Colleges
  • North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
  • Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges
  • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
  • Western Association of Schools and Colleges
